Moving to WordPress

I realize that nobody is reading this blog. However, I feel it is only courteous to make a post here letting anyone who comes by that I am no longer posting here. I can be found at WordPress. I feel that WordPress is just a better platform for me to be using. I also think that the blog designs available there look nice than the ones here. It really comes down to personal preferences. Thanks for reading.

I'm done with .Mac... for now

I used to have a website that I hosted on .Mac and I think I'm going to let it go. I may go back to it, but I find iWeb to be a little limiting, but still simple to use. I probably would have continued to use it, but an annual .Mac membership is $100 and I'm trying to cut back on costs as much as possible. So, here I am.

Where to go #5

I am a fan of webcomics. Granted, it is still something that I am getting into. I would like to plug a couple webcomics that I enjoy. They are "Questionable Content" by Jeph Jacques and "Sam and Fuzzy" by Sam Logan. Ironically, Jeph claims that Sam is his "mortal enemy." I don't know why though.

Obligatory post-Macworld blog post

I have to post this simply because it is so cool. In case you didn't know, Apple announced various products on January 15. Among them was the MacBook Air. Here's the ad:

I was very impressed by the engineering involved. They managed to cram a Core 2 Duo processor, 2 GB of RAM, an 80 GB hard drive, and an iSight camera into this thing. There's an option for a 64 GB solid-state (flash memory) drive rather than the 80 GB hard drive. It costs an extra $1000, though. There's also a 13.3-inch screen and an ambient light sensor that controls the brightness of the full-size back-lit keyboard. There is no internal optical drive, but you can buy one from Apple for an extra $99 or you can use some included software to "borrow" the optical drive of another computer on your local wireless network. This isn't cheap, though, it starts at $1799.
I'm looking forward to seeing this in stores next week. By the way, I have also embedded Apple's official promotional/introductory video for the MacBook Air.

New Media Douchebags

I'm sitting in my I101 class and we're discussing Web 2.0. This video came to mind. I think it's snide but pithy.

Stephen Lynch D & D

One of the funniest comedians I have seen in a long time. His humor is a little coarse and crass, but if you're into that, you'll love it! I hope you enjoy!

Where to go #4

If you know me, you know that I like music. One of my favorite bands out there that is still making music is The Polyphonic Spree of Dallas, Texas. They around two dozen people in the group, depending on the availability of the musicians. Tim DeLaughter is the frontman for the band and is the lead singer, senior songwriter, and sometimes play guitar or piano on their albums. There's a 10-voice choir, a couple guitars, a bass, two keyboards, a theremin, a harp, a cello, a violin, and two soundboards pulling it all together. Of course, there are people attached to all that stuff. I've probably missed a few insturments too. If you haven't heard this group, I suggest you head over to their website and check them out. When you do, you'll want more and more until you end up following them on tour. I highly recommend you go to one of their live shows, they are incredible. Some of their live shows are on YouTube, too. As a fun little bonus, I've embedded the music video of one of their earlier, classic songs. Hope you enjoy!
